Life's a garden--dig it...

Today was my first official summer vacation and we didn't have to rush to swimming lessons or anything else--it was so nice and relaxing! The weather was PERFECT for playing outside in the sandbox. Annie is a sandbox specialist, but this was Rhett's first time. He didn't love it or hate it, and mainly he just wanted to snack on the rocks in one of our flower beds. The word no means something funny in his mind and to proceed with whatever he's doing. Anyway, here are a few photos of the afternoon.

Annie wanted to pose as a flower.
Hard to tell, but a beautiful sand flower garden (purple dinosaur on left included)
Should I play with these shovels or eat the rocks? Is that even a question?

Backyardigans

I hope there's alot of this going on this summer. Being lazy in the backyard. This is actually our neighbors, the Nicholson's, backyard. Annie is on radar for action next door, so it's usually uninvited company!
Annie, Hannah, and Ty taking specimen from the pool....ooooh I'm sure we don't want to know the lab results!
Rhett got into Ty's mudhole

Hannah and Annie as flamingos (they said)

By the way everyone, Rhett is walking now! He pulls up on something, then takes off.
A rear view of the mud hole's damage...not too bad actually.

64 Zoo Lane

If you know me, you know a zoo trip is in the plans no matter where we are! Saturday we took the four babies to the Fort Worth zoo. It was a day of hot, walking, diaper changing, and $2.25 bottled water! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention fun! It really was, though, just being together. I wish we all lived closer.
Here is a shot of Kristie and Annie, Sarah and Grace, and Ben on the end filming.

Fort Worth

For a very sad reason we made a trip to Fort Worth. My Grandmother passed away on Memorial Day. But good things come from bad sometimes and getting to see your family is always a good thing, especially since we have little ones now! And my Grandmother loved her family and would have loved that all the little cousins got to spend some time together. Here are some pix I took out in Grandmother's front yard.
Here is Grace, 19 months. She is the sweetest little girl with her pats on your back and her big squeezy hugs!
Here is Rhett Rhett probably eating a bug or something else gross.

Here is Anara, 9 months. Rhett could not keep his hands off of her. Look at Anara's face: Little rowdy boy say what?

Isn't this a great one?

Happy Graduating!

Annie is an official graduate of Newport Montessori! She has been going since she was just 2 years old. Her teachers loved her and probably let her get away with too many things! She will really miss her Montessori teachers and friends, but she's excited about pre-K next year as a Wildcat! (P.S. These are not the best pictures; my camera was going dead and I would turn it on and snap a pic, then turn it off. The ususal scenario...)

Last Dance. . .

This was the big night! It was also the long night, two hours and 23 dances to be exact. Rhett wished his mommy had remembered to pack a bottle, and so did the rest of his family! Annie did fabulous, though. She received her second trophy, which was twice the size of last year's, and you can see it on display on her dresser in her bedroom! :)

Look at me!

I'm getting soooooo big! I had a birthday this week--10 months! I got to ride in Annie's jeep that day and she was such a great driver. She didn't even run over too many curbs or go too fast (my mommy made her keep it in low gear). I loved my first ride in that beautiful red jeep--I had been waiting for that day a long time!

Dancing Queen!

It's crunch time! Dance recital is Tuesday night, and they started working on this dance about 2 months ago (or less it seems). It will be great no matter what they do, and last year they pulled it all together for a really good recital. Annie will be dancing to The Twist (tap) and Butterfly Kisses (ballet--it's soooo sweet! No one will have a dry eye!) She will also have one gymnastics pass, and I must say she is a star!

Annie's Big Day. . .

. . . at "Uncle" Alan and Janelle's much anticipated and talked about, wedding. Annie had been practicing for many months prior to the wedding. After receiving the book, Lilly's Big Day, from her Nanna, Annie took Lilly's tips to being the perfect flower girl. We think all three children were perfect and adorable!

Where is Rhett you say? With his Nanna during all wedding things! 9 months and crawling everywhere doesn't work out always.
